Knit Sock Classes

This class is spread over three hour & a half session.
$45 for the 3 week class.

Materials Not Included - must be purchased at Knitters Nook

Learn to knit basic top down socks for yourself using double pointed needles.

Skill Level: Basic Beginner Top Down Sock class (not suitable for absolute beginner knitters).

Skills Required: Cast on, bind off, knit, purl, increase & decrease.

BRIOCHE KNITTING

Intro to one and two color brioche stitch.

Brioche stitch is all the rage! Although gazing upon a brioche pattern may be intimidating, we will break down it's components and get you on track in mastering this unique, squishy and oddly constructed stitch pattern. This stitch primarily consists of a knit-stitch knitted together with its "wrap," a yarnover from the previous row. Come join the fun and learn some new knitting abbreviations such as "Bark" and "Burp"!

The Ultimate Finishing Class!

Learn to professionally assemble your knitwear from the finishing master Keith Leonard, owner of Knits All Done. In this class you will learn the tips, tricks, and secrets behind picking up stitches, weaving in your ends and the proper use of mattress stitch to seam your prepared knitted swatches together. Be amazed as the magic unfolds and walk away with the proficient skills to finish your knitwear professionally for years to come.

FIXING MISTAKES

Ready to take your knitting to the next level? We have already mastered creating mistakes, now we will fix them! Never fear making a mistake in your knitting again! In this class we will be picking up dropped stitches in stockinette stitch and garter stitch. We will learn how to recognize twisted stitches, undo our knitting row by row, rip our knitting while successfully getting it back on the needle and add lifelines. As an added bonus, we will learn to count rows in different stitch patterns and properly measure our knitting! Walk away with the skills to be a master knitter for years to come.

FLAWLESS FINISHING ADVANCED

Had fun in "flawless Finishing?" or perhaps you are a finishing pro that wants to jump to the next level in your knitwear-finishing career? In this class watch as even more magic unfolds as we bypass basic seams and jump into more complex finishing techniques. At the end of this class you will have the proficient skills to conquer the finishing techniques of ANY project. Learn how to set-in different types of sleeves, defeat duplicate stitch while weaving in your tails, learn how to line up horizontal stripes using the staircase technique and of course, experience the fine difference between a "handmade" and "homemade" finished knitted or crocheted item!

SHORT ROW FUN!
Available in February

Short row fun anyone? In this class Keith will teach you how to properly work short rows using two different colors or yarn to create 1 of 24 squares that combined turn into a beautiful afghan called "the Lizard Ridge". You not only learn short rows, you will learn how to properly read and count your stitches while working two different strands of yarn from the same ball of yarn. Disclaimer: Once you start this project, it will be very, very hard to put it down. Be prepared for addiction, laughter, and bursts of color!

Aimed at beginner, intermediate AND advanced crocheters!

Are you ready to test your limits and depart single crochet? Crocheting makes for stunning borders and especially makes a bold statement when attached to knitting. Perfect for the beginner crocheter. In this class we used our prepared knitted swatches to learn different formulas that will allow us to properly crochet around the edge without our borders puckering out or synching in. Better yet, let's practice different stitches and techniques. Walk away with the urge to complete an afghan or sweater just in order to embellish it for that perfect finishing touch!

Overview - Making holes on purpose! Learn to read graphs & charts and make different increases & decreases.

Entrelac

How To Read A Pattern

Overview - Reading patterns & understanding abbreviations. Learn how to read a pattern from beginning to end.

Dreambird Wrap

Class Time - 6 hours (2 sessions)

Materials - 400-500 yds multi colored sock yarn with long repeats, 550 yds lace weight yarn in coordinating color, 6 dark stitch markers, 6 light stitch markers, size 3 or 4 circular needle & row counter.
Skill Level - Advanced * Prerequisites - Must know how to keep track of knitted rows
Overview - Create this beautiful wrap with Modified Swing Knitting & German Short Rows(don’t worry, it’s easy!).
1st Session - Short discussion on theory then cast on and knit along, learning how to do German short rows, place markers & keep count. Goal is to accomplish 1 feather.
2nd Session - answer questions, learn how to change yarns, begin feather 2.

L'Enveloppe

Mitered Squares

Materials - a ball of dyed yarn, short straight needles
Skill Level - Advanced - Must know how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, increase & decrease.
Overview - This is a great knitting technique to have in your arsenal and it's fun to do. You'll learn to make squares from a straight line of stitches using double decreases and attach them in proper order.
Class Size - 3 person minimum, 5 person maximum





Socks

Skill Level - Advanced - Must know how to cast on, knit, purl, bind off, increase, decrease & understand reading patterns as far as abbreviations.
Overview - Learn a stretchy cast on, how to use double pointed needles, how to turn a heel & kitchener a toe. In one day, you will knit a child's sock.

Knit A Sweater From The Neck Down

Skill Level - Advanced Beginner
Overview - Learn to knit a "top down" sweater which is an easy wat to make sure the sweater will fit lenghtwise. What’s great about this sweater (made to your measurements) is that you can try it on any time, make it any length you want and there are very little seams to sew. (Can vary from sweater pictured-pullover, long sleeve, etc.)
