Starting at a single point and growing, shifting and fading into a piece that begs to be wrapped up in. This asymmetrical triangle shawl uses some clever increasing and decreasing, combined with relaxing garter stitch and simple lace so that you have a fun-to-knit canvas to play with mixing colors on! This shawl is all about making it your own. Let your creativity shine!! Get creative - this is YOUR shawl! Use only 1 color, or 3, or 10.
Both Andrea's and Anne's shawls, shown here, use 7 colorways.
Need help with color selections?...We'll help you select a gorgeous color pallet to work wonderfully together. The best way to do this is to untwist skeins and then lay them next to each other. Look for nuances that can be seen from one color to the next - if your first color has some gold (like mine), why not snag an awesome speckled skein that also has some gold and another color you love (ahem - pink), so that after the speckled skein you can start stitching up that favorite pink skein! And so on and so forth! Thus, creating a gorgeous ombre, degrade or gradient effect.

Zirkus Knit-A-Long
June/July (complete)

Zirkus is a crescent shaped shawl by Lisa Hannes, which is worked top-down in one piece from the center out. It is knit in garter stitch combined with slipped stitches in two colors.
This project involves a technique called Mosaic Knitting. This entails using slipped stitches to form a pattern, but don't be afraid - even though the pattern uses multiple colors, only one color per row is used. This mosaic motif is an easy to knit stitch pattern and is a fun and very eye-catching method of adding zip to your project!

Designed for fingering weight yarn in two contrasting colors.
Solid/semisolid for MC, CC can be a color changing yarn or another solid.
Allow approximately 415yds of MC and 165yds of CC yarn.
Finished size: approx. 15.3" x 73.6"
GAUGE: Is not critical for this project but differences will affect yardage requirements and the finished size.
We have a great selection of fingering weight yarns for this project. The possibilities are endless!
